SECRETARY SPEECH FOR THE A.G.M
Respected
presiding officer, senior vice president, vice president dignitaries
on dias and members of Dhanbad Club ltd.
At the outset I welcome you all to the ninth annual general meeting
of Dhanbad Club Ltd. It is a matter of pride for me to address the
elite gathering here. The members of club trusted me for holding the
top executive post of the club. I have tried my best to work with
transparency and positive approach. For me growth is a way of life
and development is the means to compete with the ever changing
world.
This year the working committee had clear ideas and targets in mind.
We wanted to give the members the best quality at lowest prices. All
round efforts were made to monitor the club facilities at all points
to come out with results.
At the board room we had frequent meetings and interactions with all
the executive committee members of 2007 -08 to put on floor my
vision and ideas, and the achievements of the year has been
reflected in the financial highlights and development report. The
support and experience of senior members of club and the energy and
concept of youngsters gave us a combination in which all dreams were
possible to realize. 12 months was not a long time but we have tried
to deliver the maximum we could and worked with utmost commitment.
One and all
having the same target “the betterment of our club, Dhanbad club”.
The club consists of members who are the cream of Dhanbad city,
everyone successful and qualified in his or her field; this makes
the club premises a safe and peaceful place to spend evenings with
family and friends.
This year we organized various programs and events. In most of the
events we concentrated on corporate sponsors and total professional
management. The programs at club were liked the members and their
family, we tried to give them quality entertainment at the lowest
possible charges.
Sports are backbone of club life. A new lawn tennis court, renovated
billiards room, ozone health club and indoor sports hall has
improved sporting activities in club.
As the leader of the committee I understood my job to take
responsibilities from the front and never side stepped it. At times
I had to take tough decision which might had hurt my friends but I
am sure that they will understand that it was part of my job and
commitment which I had promised to my 500 member friends. For me
club is my family of 500 members.
We implemented better accounting systems and computerization of bar
accounts, overall improvement was observed in the club finances and
accounts as reflected in the financial highlights of 2007 -08.
Instead of using club fixed deposits we made plans to generate funds
and thereafter did development. It’s difficult to achieve things
alone, I was lucky to have a wonderful team with me, and as the
leader of the team I tried to weave all the threads together from
one to another to create something. The result of the teamwork is
now front of you to judge.
Dhanbad club now seems to be on its feet, we all will be responsible
for its future. It’s easy to criticize and step out, but the need of
hour is to contribute to one common cause “Dhanbad Club”. It’s my
appeal to all the members to use your wisdom, experience and be
involved in club activities so that the growth of club doesn’t stop.
We are now considered to be one the best clubs of country; my dream
is to make it THE BEST.
